COVID-19 Guidelines

Top Priorities

Your health and safety are our top priority. We closely follow local health and safety guidelines to ensure that every protocol is followed to maintain a safe and clean facility for our patients and staff. If you need to be seen for hearing concerns or hearing aid repairs, please call or email our office to determine how we may quickly and safely assist you! While we are currently seeing patients by appointment only, we are able to offer both curbside and in-office services.

Precautions

As we continue to monitor the rapidly evolving situation around the coronavirus (COVID19), our first priority is for the safety and the well-being of our patients. In these unprecedented times, it is important that we take all necessary precautions to protect our patients and all in the community who may be impacted. At Erie Audiology, we are taking extra measures to make our clinic environment as safe as possible.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. 

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Academy of Audiology (AAA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Pennsylvania Department of Health (PADOH). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

We will continue to operate in compliance with Pennsylvania Department of Health recommendations and we want to inform you of our current policies when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:

  • Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office. 
  • When possible, we will continue to provide “curbside” or “RemoteCare” appointments for hearing aid maintenance or repair work, picking up batteries or other supplies, or hearing aid adjustments.
  • We have hand sanitizer in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed. We also require that you wear a facemask upon entering our office and that it stay in place over your mouth and nose during your entire visit.
  • We will be taking your temperature with a “no-touch” infra-red thermometer prior to having you enter the office. If we record a temperature of  ≥ 100.4°  F, your appointment will be rescheduled.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for physical distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
  • We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
